Our History
From a Budapest translation agency to a multilingual project management company operating across Europe.
Business Team Translations was established in Budapest in 1999. The early years were built on a straightforward approach: careful project management and a consistent commitment to delivering work that met — and where possible exceeded — what clients expected. Growth was steady, built on referrals and repeat business.
Hungary's accession to the European Union in 2004 changed the company fundamentally. Enquiries arrived from France, Germany, and the United Kingdom — with them came larger projects, stricter quality requirements, and the need for framework agreements that could support ongoing multilingual supply relationships.
Projects that had previously run to thousands of words began running to hundreds of thousands. Single-language assignments gave way to multilingual programs delivered simultaneously into ten, fifteen, or more languages. It was during this period that BTT stopped being a translation agency and began becoming a multilingual project management company.
In 2008, we implemented the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard, first audited by TÜV NORD, one of Europe's most respected certification bodies. Over subsequent years we achieved ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17100:2015 certification — establishing a formal quality framework that covers every stage of the process from project intake to final delivery. Our certifications are currently maintained and audited by Certa-Nova.
The following decade was defined by deepening sector expertise and operational infrastructure. We developed stronger capability in regulated industries — medical devices, pharmaceuticals, legal and compliance documentation, financial reporting — where the consequences of inconsistency go beyond communication failure. Our interpreters delivered assignments in France, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Ukraine.
Business Team Translations now operates with offices in Budapest, Milan, and Dublin. We hold the highest number of five-star Google reviews of any translation agency in Hungary. More than two decades of multilingual project experience means we have encountered — and solved — most of the problems that arise when organizations attempt to communicate across language boundaries at scale.
